Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen underscored that the 10th amendment to the constitution fills a void without compromising the role and power of parliament, and that this amendment may be the last.

The premier spoke while receiving an honorary doctorate degree from RUPP on Friday morning (Aug 5).

"Although the king appoints the prime minister, the founder of the government is the NA and the one that dissolves the government is also the NA. If the NA does not vote to validate the government, the king's appointment will also not be valid since there is no vote of confidence from the NA,” the premier added.

On 28 July 2022, the National Assembly approved constitutional amendments of Article 19 (1), Article 89, Article 98, Article 102, Article 119 (1) and Article 125 and Article 3 and Article 4 of the additional constitution.
