Phnom Penh (FN) Jul. 11 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen led high-level delegations to pay a tribute to former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe at the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia on Monday (Jul 11) afternoon.

Abe, 67, was shot on the street in Japan’s Nara city at around 11:30am on 8 July during the campaign for the upcoming upper house election.

On 8 July 2022, premier Hun Sen sent a condolence letter to Japanese prime minister Kishida Fumio over the loss of Abe. Cambodia announced a one-day national mourning for the late Abe as mark of respect.
