Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia-Laos should launch joint policies to help each other to achieve mutual benefits, speaking during a courtesy call by Laos’ foreign minister Saleumxay Kommasith on Thursday (Jul 7) at the Peace Palace.

Saleumxay Kommasith requested the premier to share recommendation to boost Cambodia-Laos relationship and cooperation.

According to the premier’s personal secretary Eang Sophalleth, Saleumxay conveyed regards from Lao president and prime minister to the premier and congratulated him and the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) over the 5th mandate communal election victory, which reflected the citizens’ will in the wise leadership of premier Hun Sen.

Lao foreign minister pledged to support Cambodia as the rotating chair of ASEAN in solving Myanmar’s crisis as well as thanked the kingdom for assisting Laos in combating COVID19 pandemic.

In response, premier Hun Sen pointed out that the Cambodia-Laos bilateral cooperation should jointly evaluate and launch a policy to help each other to achieve mutual benefits.

Samdech thanked Saleumxay for conveying regards from the Lao president and prime minister as well as for their congratulation and support for the kingdom’s ASEAN chairmanship.
