Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 6 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the wave of COVID19 transmission has returned and that required all citizens to be vigilant and further adhere to health measures.

The premier spoke in a meeting with Cambodian ASEAN Para Games athletes prior to their departure to Indonesia, held at the Peace Palace on Wednesday (Jul 6).

"There is another issue I shall remind our citizens and athletes of, particularly the return of COVID19 transmission. Europe, France and Italy have declared the seventh wave of COVID19 transmission, of which Italy confirmed over 130,000 cases per day, while France confirmed 120,000 cases,” the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, Cambodia has confirmed new COVID19 cases these few consecutive days. Therefore, it requires our citizens to be vigilant and adhere to health measures to fight against the COVID19 pandemic.
To date (Jul 6), Cambodia has confirmed 136,308 cases of COVID19 with 133,206 recoveries and 3,056 deaths.
