Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen praised the outcomes of the 16th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting (16th ADMM), which was successfully concluded on Wednesday (Jun 22) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The premier spoke during a courtesy call by ASEAN defence ministers on Wednesday at the Peace Palace.

Brunei Darussalam’s defense minister Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, in his capacity as representative of ASEAN defense minister, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Cambodia.

The delegation highly commended the leadership of premier Hun Sen in his capacity as the rotating chair of ASEAN, according to the premier's personal secretary Eang Sophalleth.

Yussof said the 16th ADMM has approved four important documents, namely, (1) Concept Paper on Enhancing Cooperation Amongst Defence Forces of ASEAN Member States (AMS) in Cross-Border Pandemic Containment; (2) Concept Paper on Enhancing Support Mechanism for ASEAN Women Peacekeepers; (3) Concept Paper on the Establishment of ASEAN Defence Educational Institutions' Collaboration (ADEIC); and (4) The Phnom Penh Vision Document on the Role of National Defense Institutions in Supporting Post-COVID19 Crisis Rehabilitation.

In response, the premier welcomed and highly commended the outcomes of the 16th ADMM. He wished all ASEAN defense ministers to enjoy their time in the kingdom and bring back good memories.
