Phnom Penh (FN), May 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Hun Manet’s future premiership depends on people’s vote.

The premier responded to questions at the 27th International Conference on "The Future of Asia" organized by Japan's Nikkei Inc. via video conference on Friday morning (27 May).

"It is not the automatic transfer of power, but it is through people’s vote. In the upcoming election, if people vote for the CPP, it means that the people want the CPP to lead the country, headed by Hun Sen having Hun Manet as the successor,” the premier underlined.

Samdech also asked the critics whether they want their children to be successful.

“I want my children to be great just like everyone does. So do not take away my right,” the premier said.

He continued that “I have trained my children well. All of my three sons are capable to become prime minister, but they will not compete each other for the position.”
