Phnom Penh (FN), 17 May – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reaffirmed that Cambodia will not lift seven-day quarantine entry requirement for unvaccinated international travelers even though the neighboring countries do so.

The premier spoke in a meeting with Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA) on Tuesday (17 May).

"If you are not vaccinated, you need to do a quarantine for 7 days,” the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, Cambodia strongly encouraged vaccination.

"Allowing unvaccinated travelers to enter the kingdom without quarantine is like encouraging people not to vaccinate."

“What if Cambodian workers working overseas, in particular Thailand, returning to the kingdom unvaccinated? They will bring diseases. The lives of people are more important than money,” the premier added.

Cambodia has so far vaccinated nearly 93 percent of the total population. Nearly 9 million people have received third dose and more than 2 million received the fourth shot.
