Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced to meet with 1,753 grade A high school students on 3 May 2022.

The premier spoke at the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of Ministry of Education on Wednesday (27 Apr).

“On 3 May, I will meet with Grade A students because there was a postponement of the meeting last year as COVID19 Omicron variant surged. We also did not expect that our grade A students this year are over 1,700 compared to 400 or 500 in the past,” the premier underlined.

At the same time, Samdech added that the online learning and the efforts of parents in teaching their children at home have helped solve the problem during the COVID19 crisis. However, some students have also dropped out of school as well, the premier added.

Regarding online learning during the COVID19 pandemic, premier Hun Sen also acknowledged the difficulty of students living in the remote areas, where internet access is limited.

On that occasion, Samdech also instructed teachers to pay close attention to the ongoing situation of the COVID19 disease in the educational institutions.
