Japan (FN), Apr. 23 – Lao prime minister Phankham Viphavanh highly commended the neighborliness and brotherhood of Cambodia-Laos relations and cordially invited Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and Cambodian army commander lieutenant general Hun Manet to visit Laos at any convenient time.

The invitation was extended during a bilateral meeting on Saturday on the sidelines of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit in Japan.

Cambodian delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn said the two leaders expressed deep satisfactions with the fruitful relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Premier Hun Sen has accepted a request to visit Laos. He informed Lao premier to prepare important documents on border issues.

Samdech also expressed his satisfaction with the invitation of Lieutenant General Hun Manet to visit Laos to strengthen military ties and cooperation between the two countries.

Lao premier said he plans to visit the provinces bordering Cambodia, such as Champasak, in order to strengthen ties between those provinces.

Lao prime minister thanked the royal government and the people of Cambodia for providing assistances to Laos during difficult time, such as COVID19 vaccines, buses and funds.

Delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn continued that in addition to the bilateral issues, the two prime ministers also discussed a number of regional and international issues. Lao premier expressed full support on Cambodia’s chairmanship of ASEAN 2022.
