Sihanoukville (FN), Apr. 16 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced that the Royal Government of Cambodia does not impose any restrictions during the Khmer New Year holidays.

The premier spoke in the coronation ceremony of "Preah Thong Neang Neak" Statue in Sihanoukville Province on Saturday.

The premier also instructed the authorities not to restrict the implementation of the COVID19 preventive measures during the holidays.

“I do not intend to impose any restriction during the holidays, and also ask the authorities at all levels not to apply the law related to the COVID19 management and other infectious diseases. If the infection is serious, we will announce to our people to suspend their gatherings,” the premier underlined.

According to premier Hun Sen, Cambodia received over 2 million tourists within the first two days of the holidays.

On that occasion, Samdech also welcomed Cambodian people abroad and international tourists to visit Cambodia as the kingdom has amended some conditions of the entry requirement for international travelers arriving in Cambodia.
