Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 25 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reaffirmed that peace remains a top priority and the most necessary for all nations, speaking in an inauguration of the official use of National Road No. 51 on Friday in Kampong Speu province.

“Currently, the world is craving for peace. When there is no war, no one cares about peace, but democracy and human rights. For us [Cambodia], we also care about democracy and human rights, but peace is our top priority. Without peace, no need to talk about democracy and human rights,” the premier underlined.

The premier added that when the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, millions of their citizens were worried and fled their home country. In this regard, the Ukrainian president reiterated that peace is the highest priority for Ukraine.

The impact of war will destroy the nation. For instance, landmines and unexploded war remnants remain on Cambodian territory.

Sademch continued, peace allows Cambodia to develop in all sectors such as infrastructure, economy, trade, and construction, therefore Cambodian people shall jointly safeguard peace at any cost.
