Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged Cambodia-China stakeholders to speed up the establishment of a homegrown COVID19 vaccine factory, speaking in an inauguration of the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital on Monday.

"Vaccine production must also continue to be promoted [...] we must put efforts to work with the Chinese stakeholders to establish a homegrown COVID19 vaccine factory in Cambodia," the premier underlined.

Premier Hun Sen also urged the Cambodian medical experts to build cohesive cooperation with the Chinese medical experts to learn the development of the traditional Chinese medicine, Lianhua Qingwen Jiaonang, for future production.

During Cambodian top diplomat’s visit to China’s Zhejiang on 3-5 December 2021, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed China’s strong commitment to continue to provide assistance to Cambodia in the fight against the COVID19, including the support to establish COVID19 vaccines manufacturing factory in Cambodia.
