Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 20 – Japanese prime minister Kishida Fumio and delegation arrived Cambodia on Sunday afternoon for a two-day official visit on 20-21 March 2022.

Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and premier Kishida Fumio will have a bilateral meeting to discuss the enhancement of relations and cooperation between the two countries, including in fields of trade and investment, education, infrastructure, defense and security and the post-COVID19 socio-economic recovery, among others, and also exchange views on regional and international issues of common interests and concerns, according to a press release dated 17 March 2022.

At the end of the meeting, the two leaders will have a joint press conference.

During the visit, Kishida Fumio will lay wreath at the Independence Monument and pay tribute at the Royal Memorial Statue of the late king father Norodom
Sihanouk.

The Japanese premier will also visit memorials of the late Japanese officials who sacrificed their lives under the United Nations Services in Cambodia.
