Tbong Khmum (FN), Mar. 7 — Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia is working hard to eradicate malaria by 2025, speaking in an inauguration ceremony of Cambodia-China Friendship Tbong Khmum Hospital province on Monday.

“Cambodia is working hard to eradicate malaria by 2025. Member countries of Mekong-Lancang cooperation also aim to eradicate malaria by 2025,” the premier underlined.

Some Cambodia’s provinces have a high infection rate of malaria, namely Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri and Tbong Khmum province, according to the premier.

“In the past, treating the infected patients was tough due to lacks of transportation and infrastructure,” the premier added.

On that occasion, Samdech also reminded that despite the lack of facilities in the kingdom, being professional, conscientious and implementing policy have made it possible for Cambodia to eradicate polio disease.
