Takeo (FN), Mar. 2 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his view that the supplies of arms to assist Ukraine in the Russia-Ukraine war will not end the war, but escalate tensions.

The premier spoke in an inauguration ceremony for the official use of National Road No. 3 in Takeo province on Wednesday.

“I strongly oppose the use of force to end conflict. War is not a mean to end war. Russia-Ukraine war now becomes Russia-Europe war as European countries have sent weapons and troops to assist Ukraine,” the premier underlined.

Premier Hun Sen called for dialogues and a peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

On 24 February 2022, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced to launch special operation in the Donbass region after Moscow recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk breakaway republics.

Russia's war of aggression on Ukraine has become a major topic of the world with countries expressing concern over the spread of the war and calling for restraint and dialogues. The week-long war has left thousands of people dead while infrastructure in Ukraine's major cities have been destroyed.
