Takeo (FN), Mar. 2 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged compatriots to continue to fight against COVID19, speaking in an inauguration ceremony for the official use of National Road No. 3 in Takeo province on Wednesday.

“I would like to urge all compatriots to continue to fight against COVID19 by strictly adhere to health measures and complete vaccination. In fact, Cambodia has so far vaccinated more than 91 percent of the total population. More than 7 million people have received third dose and nearly 1 million received the fourth shot,” the premier said.

Samdech continued, “what I am proud of the most is more than 28 percent of children aged under 5 year-old received the first dose of COVID19 vaccine since the campaign began on 23 February 2022.”

“I would like to thank for the vaccine and thank the Chinese government who always provide vaccine assistance to Cambodia. To date, we have more than 7 million doses in stock. We will import more vaccines in the first semester of this year to inoculate our people,” the premier added.

As of 2 March 2022, Cambodia has confirmed 130,589 cases of COVID19 with 124,177 recoveries and 3,032 deaths.
