Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 13 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and a high-level delegation arrived Phnom Penh on Sunday after concluding a four-day visit to Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

Cambodian premier Hun Sen and delegations departed from Cambodia on 10 February 2022 to co-host the World Summit 2022 under the theme “Toward Peace on the Korean Peninsula”, on 10-13 February 2022 in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.

During his stay, premier Hun Sen held a meeting with South Korean president Moon Jae-in to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation, including political, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation, and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern.

Cambodian premier also received a courtesy call by former secretary-general of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon. The premier also had meetings with Heads of State/Government of some countries as well as receive call from some political and business figures.

The World Summit 2022 brought together keynote speakers and participants from 157 nations to explore the prospects for peaceful reconciliation of the Korean Peninsula.

On 12 February, the Summit officially presented the 5th Sunhak Peace Prize Award to premier Hun Sen for his steadfast leadership over many years as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, contributing to stability, economic development and peace in Cambodia and the Southeast Asian region at large.
