Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 12 – Newton Leroy Gingrich, former 50th speaker of the United States House of Representatives, considered Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen as a dedicate patriot who brought the kingdom from a terrible civil war.

Newton Leroy Gingrich spoke in in 2022 Sunhak Peace Prize award ceremony held on Saturday in Seoul, South Korea.

“A dedicate patriot, premier Hun Sen, who is committed to dialogue and had brought his country from a terrible civil war,” he underlined.

Newton Leroy Gingrich continued, “…That peace, prosperity, safety and freedom are possible. And there I would say that the Prime Minister’s speech was particularly powerful, particularly moving. I would know what he had to go through as a young man and how he persevered when everything seen hopeless.”

At the World Summit 2022, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen was awarded the 5th Sunhak Peace Prize Award for his steadfast leadership over many years as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, contributing to stability, economic development and peace in Cambodia and the Southeast Asian region at large.
