Seoul, South Korea (FN), Feb. 11 – Former secretary general of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon supported Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen's visit to Myanmar.

Moon paid a courtesy call on premier Hun Sen at the World Summit 2022 in Seoul, South Korea on Friday.

"The visit to Myanmar reflects ASEAN chair’s effort to resolve Myanmar's crisis," Cambodian delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn quoted Moon as saying.

Ban Ki-moon informed Samdech Hun Sen that resolving the crisis in Myanmar is necessary. Moon supported the premier as chair of ASEAN for helping Myanmar solves political crisis. Moon also called for cooperation between ASEAN and the United Nations to contribute to solving Myanmar crisis.

Premier Hun Sen and Ban Ki-moon expressed their pleasure to meet again and co-chair the World Peace Summit together, Kao Kim Hourn added.
