Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 7 – The Royal Government of Cambodia has set the kingdom’s northeastern provinces as the fourth economic pole, which is expected to significantly contribute to the national economic growth.

Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen spoke in an inauguration ceremony for the official use of China-aided National Road No. 7 rehabilitation project in Kratie province on Monday.

"I want Cambodia to have four economic poles by setting the northeastern area as the fourth pole, which focuses on the agro-industry and mineral resources. We have Phnom Penh as the first pole, Sihanoukville as the second and Siem Reap as the third,” the premier underlined.

Samdech thanked China for assisting Cambodia builds many infrastructures connected to the northeastern provinces of Cambodia such as Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri provinces.
