Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 1 – A Japanese firm has granted a plot of land in Phnom Penh area to the Cambodian government to establish Cambodia-Japan PKO Anniversary Park.

Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) president Takahashi Fumaiki, who is responsible for the park project, told the premier in a courtesy call on premier Hun Sen at Peace Palace on Tuesday, according to premier’s personal secretary Eang Sophalleth.

Premier Hun Sen has agreed in principle and recommended delegate minister Sok Chenda Sophea to work with Phnom Penh Capital Hall to coordinate this work.

Takahashi praised the premier over the effective control on COVID19 in the kingdom and requested for the premier’s approval to allow Japanese investors to pay courtesy call in April 2022. He also offered the helping hand in solving Stung Prek Tnoat flood.

In response, the premier has agreed to both requests. He recommended minister of water resources and meteorology Lim Kean Hor and relevant institutions to work with the Japanese side to conduct studies on Stung Prek Tnoat flood avoidance project.
