Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 30 – On behalf of the people and the Royal Government of Cambodia, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his deep gratitude to the people and the government of Poland for donating vaccines to the kingdom to fight against COVID19.

The premier presided over a handover ceremony of Poland-aided 300,000 AstraZeneca vaccines on Sunday at the Peace Palace.

The donation reflected the noble care and commitment of the people and the government of the Republic of Poland to assist Cambodia in the fight against COVID19, the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, Cambodia considers the vaccination against COVID19 as a strategic priority. He highly commends the vaccine distributions, which enables the kingdom as well as the world to accelerate the vaccination.

Premier Hun Sen said vaccination is a key measure to control the spread; to end the COVID19 crisis; and to re-launch socio-economic activities in a safe and a new normal way.

As of 20 January 2022, Cambodia has so far vaccinated 90% of her total 16 million population and with such achievement, Cambodia can effectively control the spread of the disease, reduce hospitalization and mortality rates to a minimum, and maintain the kingdom’s socio-economic activities.
