Phnom Penh (FN), Jan.29 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen has been selected to receive the 2022 Sunhak Peace Prize Founder's Award, which is to be presented during an Award Ceremony on 12 February 2022 in Seoul, South Korea.

“You [Samdech Hun Sen] have been selected for this award due to your steadfast leadership over many years as premier of the Kingdom of Cambodia, contributing to stability, economic development and peace in Cambodia and in the Southeast Asian region at large. In addition, the Committee recognizes your efforts to promote peace in the wider region of the Asia Pacific, including your call for the establishment of an Asia-Pacific Union,” according to a letter from Sunhak Peace Prize Foundation addressed to premier Hun Sen dated 25 January 2022.

The Sunhak Peace Prize is an international peace prize established in 2015 to honor the peace vision of its founders, the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. The award was established to recognize individuals and organizations that have served humanity in exemplary ways, making the world better for future generations.
