Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 18 – Cambodia will dispatch 405 blue berets, 52 females, to the Republic of Lebanon and the Central African Republic in early February 2022 to carry out United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Cambodia used to receive United Nations peacekeeping forces to operate peacekeeping mission on a war-torn kingdom. Today, Cambodia dispatches Cambodian peacekeepers to global peace mission.

Cambodia, since 2006, has sent over 7,500 peacekeepers to carry out UN peacekeeping missions in Sudan, South Sudan, Lebanon, Cyprus, Syria, Chad, Mali and Central African Republic.

Nowadays, the kingdom has 800 troops, 80 female, conducting missions in five countries, including Sudan, South Sudan, Mali, Central African Republic, and Lebanon working as gendarmeries, observers, and staff in the fields of demining, construction, and airport engineering.
