Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 5 Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that his official visit to Myanmar will discuss the five-point consensus only, which was agreed at the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting on 24 April 2021 in Jakarta.

The premier spoke at the reward ceremony for Cambodian gold medal athlete, held Wednesday at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.

"The purpose of my visit is to help ease the situation in Myanmar,” he said, adding that "if Myanmar returns to normalcy, the people of the Myanmar will benefit from it, but it depends on Myanmar whether they want to end the conflict or not. ASEAN is just the coordinator."

The five-point consensus include:

1. Immediate cessation of violence in Myanmar and all parties to exercise utmost restraint.

2. Constructive dialogue among all parties concerned shall commence to seek a peaceful solution in the interests of the people.

3. The special envoy of ASEAN chair to facilitate mediation of the dialogue process, with the assistance of the ASEAN Secretary-General.

4. ASEAN to provide humanitarian assistance through the AHA centre,

5. Special envoy and delegation to visit Myanmar to meet all parties concerned.
