Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 29 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that he formed the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and warned against any attempt to steal the credit from his work, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the administration building of the Ministry of National Defense on Wednesday.

Samdech recalled the history of the Cambodian army, which is generally known since after the French colonial period.

The premier continued that the RCAF was formed by Cambodian late king father Norodom Sihanouk became the army of General Lon Nol staged a coup d'etat. Then there were the formations of the Khmer Rouge army and the FUNCINPEC’s army.

Later, the Kampuchean United Front for National Salvation was formed by premier Hun Sen to overthrow the Khmer Rouge.

“In order to establish a political and military organization for the liberation of the country from Pol Pot, we formed an army. Hun Sen is the founder and the commander of this army. Therefore, the rank that I am wearing is not accidental, but it is the gift bestowed by the king, who understood well the work that I have done from an army to an army chief,” the premier underlined.
