Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 11 – Fresh News Training Center (FTC) covered how to write and develop News Feature.

News Feature is a long detailed piece of news writing that use delayed lead and it is usually used to describe major events, president of the FTC Mar Yarith spoke in a training on Saturday.

News Feature requires the ability to write and describe the story in an attractive and a professional way.

In the past seven weeks, FTC students learned about the news value, the 5Ws and How, how to write body paragraph and conclude the news writing. Students also recently learned about News Update and Developing News.

Mar Yarith is a local veteran journalist, who has been working in the field of journalism for over 30 years. He has worked for various well-known foreign news agencies such as UPI, AP and VOA. Yarith was also the founder and co-founder to several media outlets in Cambodia. Back then, he was the only Cambodian student majoring in journalism at the University of Michigan and the University of Maryland in the United States.
