Preah Sihanouk (FN), Dec. 2 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen praised the achievements of the 37-line roads in Sihanoukville province and considered these achievements as one of the Kingdom’s pride.

The construction of 37 roads and three wastewater treatment plants in Sihanoukville started on 16 November 2019 and completed on 1 April 2021. These 37 roads, with a total length of 84km, are divided into three boulevards, 15 roads and 19 subways. The construction cost approximately USD 300 million.

Premier Hun Sen commended minister of land management Chea Sophara and his colleagues, as well as the boards of governors of Sihanoukville, government officials, construction officials and construction firms for their excellent cooperation.

“The construction requires thorough inspection, as this is the work managed by Cambodian people without foreign technical or financial assistances,” the premier underlined.

The vision for 2030 is to develop Sihanoukville, a sustainable national development pole in Cambodia's coastal region, into a multi-purpose special economic zone, a national growth center and logistics center through the development of smart cities and coastal integration in Cambodia.
