Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific must support peace and development goals in the region.

The premier told Indonesian foreign minister Retno L.P. Marsudi during her courtesy call on Wednesday at the Peace Palace.

According to a delegate minister Kao Kim Hourn, during the meeting, premier Hun Sen highlighted the important role of Indonesia, especially the implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific.

“The ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific framework has to support the goal of peace and development, to ensure that there is no opposition to any country in the region, and more importantly support the ASEAN centrality in the region."

In this regard, the Indonesian foreign minister supported and agreed with premier Hun Sen.

She said that Indonesia will work with Cambodia to develop action plans to implement the ASEAN outlook on Indo-Pacific.
