Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 1 – Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida pledged to donate additional 300,000 doses of COVID19 vaccine to Cambodia through COVAX Facility, according to delegate minister Sri Thamrong.

The Japanese premier met with Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen via videoconference on Wednesday.

Cambodian premier thanked the Government and the People of Japan for donating vaccines, ambulances and medical equipment to Cambodia to fight against COVID19 and this additional donation is significant for Cambodia to win the battle.

To date, Cambodia has received about 40 million dose of COVID19 vaccine to inoculate her people, of which China has supplied the most vaccines to Cambodia, followed by World Health Organization through the COVAX Facility, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
