Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 12 – The Centrist Democrat International (CDI) and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) supported the amendments to the Cambodian Constitution that determine a single citizenship for the kingdom’s top leaders, according to a press release issued by Cambodian People's Party (CPP) on Friday.

“On 26 October 2021, the National Assembly adopted the draft law on the constitutional amendment and related laws to to determine that the prime minister, the National Assembly president, Senate president, and the Constitutional Council president must hold a single Cambodian citizenship.”

“A week after the amendment, two major international political parties, Centrist Democrat International (CDI) and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) issued letters of support for amendments to the Cambodian Constitution,” the press release said.
