Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 12 – Cambodian Ministry of Interior rejected the request to register Cambodia National Heart Party (CNHP) in the list of political parties and filed a lawsuit against the party's founders for fraud.

General Khieu Sopheak told Fresh News earlier on Friday.

Sopheak said during the examination and autopsy on the fingerprints of more than 4,000 CNHP members, the Ministry of Interior found irregularities of the fingerprints.

The fingerprints of some individuals are different from the fingerprints in the identity card, some are stamped on the names of other people, some can not be autopsied, and a fingerprint of five individuals found on 21 individuals instead, the spokesperson added.

Sopheak said the fingerprints of the CNHP have an ill-intended purpose to illegally increase the number of members.

In addition, the Ministry of Interior will also investigate ill-intended individuals who fake the fingerprints.

The National Heart Party was founded in July 2021 by Siem Plouk. The party has been reported by some media outlets to be formed by convict Sam Rainsy's entourage.

However, in the process of preparing the party's registration documents, it has already been warned twice by the Ministry of Interior for failing to amend its statute in accordance with the Law on Political Parties and complete additional documents on time.
