Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 7 – Phnom Penh Municipal Court (PPMC) has allegedly charged former opposition leader Sam Rainsy and his accomplices with "conspiracy" and "incitement”, an act that seriously affects the national security, according to the court press release seen by Fresh News on Thursday.

Sam Rainsy, Eng Chhai Eang, Mu Sochua, Ho Vann and other accomplices were allegedly charged with “conspiracy” and “incitement to cause serious social unrest" in accordance with article 453, 494 and 495 of the Penal Code of Cambodia.

Sam Rainsy posted on Facebook on 5 October 2021 with the hidden agenda aimed at appealing to armed forces and the people to prepare plots to overthrow the legitimate Royal Government of Cambodia.
