Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen repeated vows to serve more until he wants to stop.

The statement was made at the opening ceremony of the COVID19 vaccination campaign for children.

He underlined that his leadership has always been supported by the people, demonstrated through national movements such as donations to purchase vaccines.

“I am not a dictator. Dictator have people killed, so many people will avenge them. I do not kill anyone […] Now I vow to serve more until I want to stop,” said prime minister Hun Sen.

"People don’t support dictator. No one is more dictatorial than Pol Pot. That’s why can only serve 3 years, 8 months and 20 days. Hun Sen leads the government for more than 42 years,” he told the opposition.

It is worth noting that prime minister Hun Sen had announced in 2020 that he will retire after another 10 years in power.
