Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 22 – E-commerce refers to the production, distribution, marketing, sale or delivery of goods and services electronically. Due to the health safety risks posed by the COVID19 pandemic, e-commerce has become more vital than ever in a developing economy like Cambodia. For this reason, the country has made significant efforts in advancing this sector by adopting the Law on Electronic Commerce and the Law on Consumer Protection. This paper illustrates the legal framework, strategy, and the need for e-commerce in Cambodia. It also offers policy recommendations on developing and encouraging broader adoption of e-commerce among the Cambodian population.
