Jakarta (FN), Apr. 24 – After concluding the ASEAN Leader’s meeting on 24 April 2021 in Jakarta, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen held a bilateral meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo to exchange views on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the development of bilateral relations and fruitful cooperation in various fields of the two countries.

The two leaders expressed gratitudes toward each other for providing COVID19 vaccines to diplomats and people living in Indonesia and Cambodia.

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace, security and stability in the ASEAN region and commit to work together to address regional challenges.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Hun Sen conveyed his deepest condolences to President Widodo over the sunken submarine. He also informed the President regarding the rapid spread of COVID19 in Cambodia.

President Joko Widodo is saddened by the spread of COVID19 in Cambodia and thanked Samdech Hun Sen for his condolences to the government and the families of the people who lost their lives in the sunken submarine.
