Jakarta (FN), Apr. 24 – ASEAN Leaders' Meeting has kicked off around 2 pm on Saturday, 24 April in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The meeting was attended by leaders of ASEAN member countries, including Myanmar's military leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, as well as Secretary-General of ASEAN.

However Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha and Filipino President Duterte were not present. They send their foreign ministers on their behalf.

During the meeting, the ASEAN leaders are expected to focus on three main topics, namely advancement of ASEAN Community building process, including the initiatives on COVID-19 response and socio-economic recovery efforts, ASEAN external relations, international and regional developments of common interests and concern. Some reports said the ASEAN leaders will also seek solutions for the current Myanmar crisis.
