Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 7 – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) named Cambodia among the 17 countries in the world that have given priority to vaccination against COVID19 for teachers. The rankings are based on a study of 150 countries around the world conducted one year after the outbreak of COVID19 by UNESCO and the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 (https://teachertaskforce.org/).

The Asian Cultural Council, with members from 52 Asian countries and as a cooperation partner on culture with UNESCO, wishes to congratulate the Royal Government of Cambodia on the preemptive and effective leadership in the fight against COVID19 pandemic and the relentless efforts to secure vaccines for priority population, especially for teachers, and the Cambodian people as a whole, while the world is in short supply of vaccines. With such leadership and cooperation from the people, the ACC believes that the current community spread will be contained in the near future.

Many international friends often praise Cambodia as a small country with a big heart and a small nation with a strong cultural identity. The ACC would like to express its support for the Royal Government of Cambodia in her broad participation in the global fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
