Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 6 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that armed forces and civil servants who refuse to get COVID19 vaccine might lose their jobs, addressing a special message late Tuesday.

«There are two types of officials: first, those who want to be vaccinated to protect themselves and join the government to fight COVID19, and another type of official who avoids being vaccinated.»

«It is true that the vaccine is given on a voluntary basis, but in the future it is clear that the vaccine will become mandatory like in some countries, particularly for armed forces and civil servants,» the premier said.

«At one point, the unvaccinated people might refrain from continuing their service/jobs. They must rest at home to ensure that other people are safe,» the premier said.

«We need to think about the common interest; public health is important,» he underlined.
