Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 30 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen announced the 15-day campaign to fight against COVID19 from "Community 28 November" event.

The announcement was made at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 38-line road construction in Siem Reap on Monday.

"We are not sure that we can control the situation [Community 28 November] within 15 days. It depends entirely on our efforts, both the government and people. Let’s test our ability to overcome this great challenge whether we will pass this difficult time together.” said Premier Hun Sen.

“The success in conquering the [Community 28 November] event requires people’s cooperation. I truly believe our people will join us,” he said.

In a voice message addressed to governors of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap on Monday, the premier ordered to ban all meetings, social gatherings and wedding ceremonies, effective from 1-15 December 2020.

"Community 28 November" is the first ever community transmission COVID19 case detected in Cambodia on 28 November 2020. As of 30 November, 14 people were tested positive among the over 3,330 involved.

To date, Cambodia has confirmed 323 cases of COVID19 with 301 recoveries and no death.
