Kandal (FN), 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has conveyed apologies and asked for pardons from Cambodian King and Queen Mother for inadvertently wearing sunglasses in a sending-off ceremony on Tuesday.

Speaking on Wednesday morning at the grand opening of Prince Manor Entertainment Center in Kandal’s Kien Svay district, the premier said that he never wears sunglasses and a red tie when paying a royal call or attending other ceremonies under the auspices of the King and Queen Mother.

Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed his deep regret and conveyed apology to His Majesty King and Queen Mother immediately via Whatsapp and Facebook.

The premier wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday, “Your Majesty, I made an unintentional mistake. I wore sunglasses during your departure to Beijing. It is not my protocol, but due to sun rays, I did not switch to spectacles. Your Majesty, I would like to request for pardons from you both and my compatriots for this unintended mistake.”
