Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 26 – Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the UNWTO, praised Cambodian Premier Hun Sen’s able leadership and the government’s active and effective measures against Covid-19 outbreak.

“Please allow me to express my great appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the very active and effective measures it has taken against the COVID 19 outbreak,” according to the letter dated 21 August 2020.

Head of UNWTO said he is delighted to see Cambodia has gradually restarted its domestic tourism in a controlled manner and has put in place all the necessary safety and hygiene protocols as well as the requisite guidelines at tourism sites.

Zurab Pololikashvili is highly appreciative of Premier Hun Sen’s able leadership that always puts people's safety and well-being first.

Cambodia has reported zero case of Covid-19 for 12 days consecutively as of 26 August 2020. The Kingdom has confirmed confirmed 273 cases of Covid-19. So far, 264 have recovered.
