Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 3 – Cambodia released statement on Human Rights Implications of Covid-19, delivered by Ambassador and Permanent Representative Sokkhoeurn An, at the 44th Session of the Human Rights Council.

“Cambodia has adopted a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach in line with the WHO guidelines. Our responses integrated human rights values and principle of non-discrimination to leave no one behind,” according to the ambassador’s statement.

“Cambodia’s humanitarian consent given to the stranded Westerdam cruise ship to dock early this year after being turned away by several countries had secured the rights to life, survival and health of more than 2,000 passengers and crews with 41 nationalities on board,” the statement continued.
