Phnom Penh (FN), May 27 – Foreign visitors entering the Kingdom of Cambodia must obtain a prior visa from Cambodian missions abroad and provide a medical certificate issued by competent health authorities of his/her country no more than 72 hours prior to the date of travel, Cambodia’s Ministry of Health reiterated during the inter-ministerial committee meeting on Wednesday.

Visitor also needs to provide proof of his/her insurance policy that shows minimum medical coverage in the amount USD 50,000 minimum.

Prime Minister Hun Sen, however, confirmed earlier today through his Facebook that Cambodian passport holders do not require health certificates to return to the Kingdom.

The premier said the measure will help facilitate Cambodian citizens at overseas to return to their families amidst Covid-19. The Strongman, however, stressed that it is necessary for Cambodian travellers to test for Covid-19 upon arrival and self-isolate for 14 days to prevent the spread of Covid-19 before returning to family.
