Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 20 – Cambodia’s Health Ministry Spokesperson Or Vandine warned of a new wave of Covid-19 in Cambodia if people are negligent, speaking at a press conference on Monday.

"Covid-19 situation in Cambodia is “fragile” although no new cases reported in a week straight while more patients have recovered,” said Or Vandine.

“Subsequent recoveries does not mean the Kingdom is safe from Covid-19,” the spokesperson warned, adding that: "Myanmar previously had only a few cases of Covid-19, but nowadays the number of infected people reached 111, indicating the extremely rapid outbreak.”

Vandine has continuously appealed to citizens nationwide to follow the guidance set out by the Ministry of Health and the Royal Government’s decisions.

As of 20 April 2020, the Kingdom has confirmed 122 cases in total. At least 107 or 87.7 percent have recovered.
