Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 22 – The Ministry of Interior has agreed to extend the deadline for Human Rights Party (HRP) to submit its new compositions, according to the ministry's letter addressed to the party dated Friday.

The decision was made in response to the request to extend a six-month deadline filed by the party.

The new list of compositions is required to run the party after HRP President Son Soubert resigned.

Founded over the last decade ago by Kem Sokha, the HRP merged with Sam Rainsy Party in 2012 to form the Cambodia National Rescue Party.

Following the merge, Kem Sokha let Son Soubert run the HRP on his behalf as the back-door.
