Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 6 – After the Thai Prime Minister announced not to allow Rainsy to enter Thailand, former opposition leader Sam Rainsy decided to change his flight from 7 November 7 to 9 November 2019 to leave Paris, France to Bangkok, Thailand.

Changing flight means Sam Rainsy will not arrive in Cambodia on 9 November as promised. Rainsy will arrive in Thailand in the morning of 10 November.

Rainsy's decision was made after Thailand announced not to allow entry to Sam Rainsy, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said on Wednesday, according to Reuters.

At a news conference in the Thai capital, Prayuth referred to Thailand’s ties with Cambodia as a fellow member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) grouping.

“According to our commitment to ASEAN, we will not interfere in each other’s internal affairs, and we will not allow an anti-government person to use Thailand for activism,” Prayuth said.
