Siem Reap (FN), Nov. 6 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Wednesday morning that Cambodian workers to South Korea is being cheated despite passing through legal examination and formal migration.

His statement was made at the 12th ASEAN-China Prosecutor-General Conference held on 6-7 November 2019 in Siem Reap province, Cambodia.

The premier said the sending agents are exploiting migrant workers through charging over fees, which requires the role of prosecutors to protect the victims.

According to Prime Minister, more than 50,000 Cambodians are migrant workers to South Korea.

Cambodian workers in South Korea on average earn about $1,200-1,800 per month in the agriculture and industrial sectors, according to report of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
