Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 8 - Electricité Du Cambodge (EDC) director-general Keo Rattanak said on Thursday that each country has different structures, different growth and favorable conditions, different size of markets, consumption and resources, so the price of electricity cannot be the same, speaking at the press conference at Council of Ministers, Phnom Penh.

The electricity price in Cambodia is not yet cheaper than Vietnam and Thailand as the two neighboring countries already consumes more than 40,000 megawatts of electricity, while Cambodia only 2,000 megawatts, so it is impossible to maintain the same electricity price.

Keo Rattanak added that Vietnam has a large source of electricity and they have a domestic source of coal gas. Vietnamese war ended long time ago, while Cambodia just found her peace under the win-win policy of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
