Phnom Penh (FN) July 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked all countries, and development partners for assisting Cambodia and other LDCs in the past.

He called on WTO members and development partners to continue assisting the least developed members to graduate from the LDC status, and be able to make further and speedy progress in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The statement was made at the Socio-Cultural Program at the WTO’s Headquarter
Geneva on 3 July 2019.

According to the premier, Excellency Roberto Azevêdo, Director-General of the World Trade Organization has appreciated Cambodia during the bilateral meeting in October 2018 as well as during the meeting of this morning, and emphasized that even as a least developed country (LDC), Cambodia has played a significant role within ASEAN and the WTO, especially Cambodia has been a successful
coordinator of the LDCs Group in WTO from 2017 to 2018.

Prime Minister hoped that “Socio-Cultural Program” and the launching of the “2019-2023 Cambodia Trade Integration Strategy”, chaired by Cambodia, provides an opportunity for all participants to discuss and exchange views on any issue benefiting each of our countries.
